So, tomorrow is Jake's birthday (the 28th) and he loves Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I thought I would be this great mom and get him some so today so that when he gets up in the morning he will have this great treat. I mistakenly took my 3 year-old with me to get these doughnuts. So I told her "please don't tell Jake that we got these, they are a surprise". "Ok" she tells me.
We are around the dinner table having dinner as a family that night and it is quiet and Emily says softly "Mom, can I tell Jake we got him doughnuts?"

Emily's questions
"What does a moo have in its butt?" This was the question that was asked of me as I was getting Emily ready for her nap. "Why does a what have a what?" I asked. "A moo have in its butt?" As if I were crazy for not understanding what in the world she was asking about. So she went over to her bookshelf and got a book which had pictures of farm animals and, of course, a cow (moo). I told her that cows give milk from utters on their bellies. "Oooohhhh" was her response. I love her questions although I do get tired of answering the "whys". And then if I don't respond in time or seem annoyed for having to answer why to something for the one millioneth time that day, she will say "Don't be mad to me" and of course, I melt.
